The NAMIBIAN Constitution (from a Biblical Perspective)

WELCOME to the Namibian Constitution

⁶Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.

(John 3:6 CSB)

¹In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ²He was with God in the beginning. ³Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. ⁴In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. ⁵The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

(John 1:1-5 NIV)

¹⁰⁵Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

¹⁰⁶I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.

¹⁰⁷I have suffered much; preserve my life, Lord, according to Your Word.

(Psalm 119:105-107 NIV)

¹²Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.”

(Jeremiah 1:12 AMP)

This is the word that came to me, from the Lord: “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. I will shake this nation once more. I delight in rewriting your story and continually work in and through you to fulfil My good purpose. The glory of this present-day house will be greater than the glory of the previous house, say the Lord Almighty.”

(Compiled by Melani Bamberger)

³⁷Jesus replied, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. ³⁸⁻³⁹This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. ⁴⁰All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws and are fulfilled if you obey them. Keep only these and you will find that you are obeying all the others (Matthew 22:37-40 TLB).

Matthew 22:37-40 is the foundation of the Namibian constitution, with Jesus Christ Himself as the cornerstone.  ¹⁶So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: see I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. ¹⁷I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line (Isaiah 28:16-17 NIV).

Only an intimate relationship with Abba Father gives us the key to the promises in the treasure box, which is His own heart. This constitution is therefore written, based on our love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Because of our relationship with Him, we desire to love and obey Him, not because we have to, but because we want to, by choice. Motivated by love - everything is worthless and even destructive when attempted without love, concern, compassion, and empathy for others. ¹If I had the gift of being able to speak in other languages without learning them and could speak in every language there is in all of heaven and earth, but didn’t love others; I would only be making noise. ²If I had the gift of prophesy and knew all about what is going to happen in the future, knew everything about everything, but didn’t love others, what good would it do? Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be nothing at all without love. ³If I gave everything I have to poor people, and if I were burned alive for preaching the Gospel but didn’t love others, it will be of no value whatever. ⁴Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, ⁵never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. ⁶It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices when truth wins out. ⁷If you love someone, you will be loyal to him no matter the cost.  You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him. ⁸All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever. Someday prophesy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge – these gifts will disappear. ⁹Now we know so little, even with our special gifts, and the preaching of those most gifted is still so poor. ¹⁰But when we have been made perfect and complete, then the need for these inadequate special gifts will come to an end, and they will disappear. ¹¹It’s like this; when I was a child I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I became a man my thoughts grew far beyond those of my childhood, and now I have put away the childish things. ¹²In the same way, we can see and understand only a little about God now, as if we were peering at His reflection in a poor mirror; but someday we are going to see him in the completeness, face to face. Now all that I know is hazy and blurred, but then I will see everything clearly, just as clearly as God sees into my heart right now. ¹³That are three things that remain – faith, hope and love – and the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:1-13 TLB).

Chapters

01.

Foundation & Establishment

The Glory of the Lord is upon the nation of Namibia. As we read these promises, we long for their fulfilment.  But we must patiently wait for God’s timing – His timing is as important as His anointing.  God is in control of history, and He weaves all our lives together into His plan.

02.

Identity, Unity & Citizenship

A new people of God united by Jesus Christ, we are citizens of the Kingdom of God and members of His household.  As a kingdom citizen, you align with God's lordship by aligning your life with what God has said in His word. Whatever your nationality may be, if you are a child of God, you are a citizen of His kingdom.

03.

Government, Leadership & Ministry

If a human government did not exist, we would be in a state of total lawlessness, resulting in a hopeless fear for people. We all would thus agree that even a bad government is better than no government. God is not approving of human government; instead, He is delegating human government for the purpose of preventing complete evil and lawlessness.

04.

Rights, Freedoms & Gifts

In principle we do not have any rights.  We however have the freedom to choose.

We are not better; we are just different because light always dispels darkness. Humble yourself because humility is the character of the royal priesthood and the balance on the power. We cannot handle authority or power without humility.

05.

Security & Protection

No matter how devastating our present situation may be, we can hope in God. His resources are infinite. We must believe that He can work in any person’s life, whether that person is a king or a stranger in a foreign land.

06.

Righteousness & Justice

The Bible’s standard of human righteousness is God’s own perfection in every attribute, every attitude, every behavior, and every word. Thus, God’s laws, as given in the Bible, both describe His own character and constitute the plumb line by which He measures human righteousness.

07.

Finances, Provision & Resources

God provides a way for us to develop an intimate, conversational, obedient relationship with Him so that we can lead ourselves and others into a “Psalm 23” quality of life. Those, whose shepherd is the Lord, lack nothing.  He is Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord-Who-Provides.

08.

Conclusion

The battle is a fight to the finish, but Jesus has already won the victory on the cross when he said: “It is finished.” Eternity has invaded our time and time shall be no more.
