The NAMIBIAN Constitution (from a Biblical Perspective)
CHAPTER 5:
Security & Protection
¹He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. ²I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. ³Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. ⁴He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. ⁵You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, ⁶Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. ⁷A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. ⁸Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. ⁹Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, ¹⁰No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; ¹¹For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. ¹²In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. ¹³You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. ¹⁴“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. ¹⁵He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.¹⁶With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation (Psalm 91:1-16 NKJV).
⁹Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9 NIV). ¹³No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV).
¹¹Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. ¹²For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies – the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. ¹³So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up. ¹⁴But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God’s approval. ¹⁵Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God. ¹⁶In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. ¹⁷And you need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit – which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:11-17 TLB).
God’s supreme control over circumstances brings safety and security. God guides the minds and activities of people to fulfill His purpose. No matter how devastating our present situation may be, we can hope in God. His resources are infinite. We must believe that He can work in any person’s life, whether that person is a king or a stranger in a foreign land.
³But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3 NIV). ⁸The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV). ¹⁰For it is written: He will command His angels concerning you to guard you carefully (Luke 4:10 NIV). ⁷The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. ⁸The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever (Psalm 121:7–8 NASB).
¹⁹So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19 NKJV). ¹⁷No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, declares the Lord (Isaiah 54:17 NIV).
⁴Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me (Psalm 23:4 NKJV). ⁴Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for You are my refuge (Psalm 31:4 NIV). ⁸For He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones (Proverbs 2:8 NIV).
⁹All who are oppressed may come to Him. He is a refuge for them in their times of trouble. ¹⁰All those who know Your mercy, Lord, will count on You for help. For You have never yet forsaken those who trust in You (Psalm 9:9-10 TLB). ¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us (Romans 8:18 NKJV).
¹¹⁴You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word (Psalm 119:114 NIV). ¹¹But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you (Psalm 5:11 NIV).
¹⁰Listen to this message from the Lord, you nations of the world, and publish it abroad: The Lord who scattered His people will gather them back again and watch over them as a shepherd does his flock (Jeremiah 31:10 TLB).
¹Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance. ²Just as the mountains surround and protect Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds and protects his people. ³For the wicked shall not rule the godly, lest the godly be forced to do wrong. ⁴O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are right with the Lord; ⁵but lead evil men to execution. And let Israel have quietness and peace (Psalm 125:1-5 TLB).
